Description

The torch ring is welded to the mantle and locking nut to secure the mantle in place on the crusher head. After a new mantle is centered on the head, the locking nut is tightened, and then the torch ring is welded to both the mantle and locking nut to lock everything together.

It acts as a dust seal and helps prevent dust and contaminants from entering sensitive areas of the crusher.

The torch ring, as part of the feed plate assembly, helps control the flow of feed material into the crushing chamber between the mantle and concave. Proper feed distribution is important for crusher performance.

During liner changes, the torch ring needs to be cut off to allow removal of the worn mantle before a new mantle and torch ring are installed. So it is a sacrificial wear component that gets replaced each time the mantle is changed.
